Every second Friday from April to December, stroll through beautiful Downtown Coeurd’Alene and enjoy local and nationally acclaimed artists. Visit supporting galleries, shops, restaurants and businesses with your friends and family. Come and join us! Volunteers are still needed! Here’s the related info we received this morning from the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce newsletter, “This Week in Chamber”.
Event DescriptionThe Coeur d’Alene Triathlon and Duathlon is one of the most scenic races in the Northwest! Known as the Scenic Challenge the courses showcase the spectacular Coeur d’Alene community and surrounding area.
Swim ~ The 1.5k swim takes place in beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene, a body of water that stretches 30 miles long and up to 3 miles wide.
Bike ~ The 40k bike ride goes down Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive, a scenic route that leads to Mullan Trail Road for a challenging uphill course.
Run ~ You’ll be challenged as you finishing with the 10k run. The course takes you north along Northwest Boulevard and the Spokane River, ending with a triumphant finish line in the Coeur d’Alene City Park.
The 2011 & 2011 Coeur d’Alene Triathlon doubles as the USA Triathlon (USAT) Pacific Northwests Regional Championship. Join Coeur d’Alene as it hosts triathletes from across the United States, Canada and several other countries.
Coeur d’Alene Triathlon/Duathlon this Weekend! August 13th
There is still time left to be a part of one of the most popular races in the Northwest! The Chamber is looking for Volunteers to help out with this event. Without Volunteers the Triathlon could not happen! Also, this Thursday, August 11th at midnight is the deadline to sign up for the race.
This event has brought around 1,500 athletes, as well as friends and family to Coeur d’Alene, generating business throughout the area. It has been coined the “The Scenic Challenge” because of the undeniable beauty that surrounds the participants. This race remains one of the more popular events among tri-athletes.
